Periodical Technical Publications
In collaboration with APREN, MEGAJOULE publishes the Wind Index – an analysis tool aimed to quantify the wind energy production fluctuations regarding the historical means.
The WI is annually revised, therefore, increasing the long term reference period and reevaluating the zones, sub-zones, as well as the combination of the wind farms within every established region.

Wind Speed Anomaly Maps are being published for selected countries. Maps display the anomaly for the specific quarter. Additionally, the percentage deviation of the average wind speed of the previous trimester is compared to the long-term average for the homologous period. The data presented in these documents are derived from the MERRA2 database and are not being downscaled in any way. Wind Speed Anomaly Maps can be reached in the Periodical Technical Publications section or by clicking the link on the left.
Horizontal Radiation Anomaly Maps display the anomaly for the specific quarter. It consists of the percentage deviation of the average GHI of previous quarter vs the long-term average for the homologous period. The data presented in this document derives from the MERRA2 database and has not been downscaled in any way.
