Operational Energy Yield Assessment

An Operational Energy Yield Assessment (OEYA) is a crucial process for reassessing the annual energy production of operational renewable energy projects, such as wind farms and solar plants. By incorporating real operational data, this assessment refines initial production estimates, providing a more accurate understanding of a project’s performance. Unlike pre-construction models based on theoretical assumptions, an OEYA accounts for actual resource conditions, equipment performance, and operational constraints. This improved accuracy helps operators optimize performance, manage financial expectations, and support long-term planning.

Power Curve Analysis

A Power Curve Analysis (PCA) is a crucial tool for assessing wind turbine performance by comparing actual energy production to expected output based on the turbine’s power curve. This analysis helps wind farm operators evaluate efficiency, detect anomalies, and optimize operations to ensure consistent and reliable energy generation. By identifying deviations from expected performance, operators can proactively address issues such as mechanical wear, aerodynamic inefficiencies, or environmental impacts. Additionally, PCA plays a key role in verifying compliance with contractual obligations and warranty conditions, safeguarding investments in wind energy projects.

Power Curve Measurements

To confirm that investment performs as expected, IEC-compliant power curve measurement (PCM) testing has become a crucial step in establishing wind energy production capability of a wind farm. The PCM confirms that wind turbines can produce the proposed amount of wind energy described in the guaranteed documents that ar part of the TSA (turbine supply agreement)specifications. By conducting IEC-compliant PCM, MJ can provide the services necessary to confirm the power curve status of the wind farm.

Wind Index

A Wind Index Assessment (WIX) is a critical component in the ongoing monitoring and analysis of wind energy production at a regional/national level. This periodic study helps track the performance of wind farms and identifies variations in energy output. By analyzing production data from wind farms, the study offers a periodic overview of wind energy generation, with an additional annual report that consolidates the results for the entire year. The findings are categorized by zones and subzones, ensuring a detailed understanding of regional differences in wind energy production.
